Both windows mount the same way: you cut the hole in your building, insert the window from the outside, both windows will have a screw flange to screw the window in. At the point when the window is screwed in, this is where the difference is. On the flush mount the glass of the window will lay flush to the building and you place your trim board on top of the window flange. On the j-channel mount window the glass of the window protrudes away from the building because you have a 7/8” channel built onto the window to allow either your siding, vinyl siding, or your trim board to slide in. Whatever product you place in the channel, the glass of the window will be flush with that product.
Yes, if the window opens it has a screen.
No, we do not recommend shed windows for the home, these windows are made for sheds, they are not energy efficient, and the windows are not finished off inside the window such as they are for home windows. We stock double-pane windows that can be installed in homes.
Yes, on all the vertical slider windows the bottom sash lifts up, the top sash is fixed. These are considered single hung. Our horizontal sliders also open, but side to side.
We recommend #8 screws, by any length that will work with your project ¾”, 1” or 1-1/4”. You can use nails, but we do not recommend it, so you don't break the glass.
Safety glass is a thicker glass, more durable and when it breaks it crumbles into small pieces instead of sharp shards, it is also called tempered glass.

There are different ways: you can purchase a flower box hanger from your local garden center or on line, there are thousands of them in every price point. From very plan to very ornate. You can also attach them by using either screws or bolts. If you plan on using dirt and real flowers we recommend bolts since dirt tends to be heavy when wet.
The shutters come with screws that are painted the same color as your shutters, no caps needed.
Yes, we stock horizontal windows.
The grids are on the outside of the window and we do not recommend removing them since they are built into the frame of the window. Removing them might cause damage to the window.
No, they do not, but if you need some just ask and we can throw some in the box with the window. We have flat heads #8 x 1”. If you want painted screws we have pan heads painted brown or white they are .03 each. But remember pan head screws will interfere with your trim work, they will not allow the trim to lay flat.
Most shed builders will use a 6” t-hinge, that is pretty standard in the industry. Standard t-hinge 6”, colonial t-hinge 6” or decorative t-hinge 6”. If you want to go larger try a 8” or 12” hinge, the 12” is more of a strap hinge. We have hinges from 4” up to 20”. The width of your door or gate is as important as the weight. As the width gets larger, the amount of leverage is increased which puts stress on the hinge and fasteners holding the hinge, So you might want to use a larger strap length.
3-1/2” stem fits a door thickness up to 2-1/2” thick 4-1/2” stem fits a door thickness up to 3-1/2” thick 5-1/2” stem fits a door thickness up to 4-1/2” thick 6-1/2” stem fits a door thickness up to 5-1/2” thick If you are unsure or your door has not been built yet you can always order longer stem, and it can be cut down with a hex saw.
Yes, we have black hinge screws in lengths of 1”, 1-1/4”, 1-1/2”, 1-3/4”, 2” and 2-1/2”. If you want screws longer then 1-1/2” there will be a slight up charge.
Yes, as long as it has not been installed we take them back, please call the office for a return authorization and return instructions.
